Get to know Shraddha

Tell us about your role at NaviParking.

Shraddha Dable: I work as a Senior Software Developer, and I am a part of the Gryffindor team that develops and maintains NaviParking Enterprise solutions (NaviParking Enterprise and Naviparking Enterprise Manager) and Digital Parking (cyfrowyparking.pl).

My responsibilities involve developing the software solutions that our smart user needs, collaborating and brainstorming with a team to achieve the goals, ensuring software is up-to-date with the latest changes in technologies and mentoring Interns and Junior Software Engineers.

What does smart mobility mean to you? Why is it important?

SD: Our population is growing day by day. We need a transport network which can accommodate growth without increasing congestion and pollution. Smart mobility is a new and revolutionary way of thinking about making the transport system more efficient, safer and more sustainable. We need the help of technology to integrate multiple modes of transport networks and planning and payment systems.

I am very happy to be part of a company that provides a single tool for booking, planning and paying for your mobility in an all-in-one, easy-to-use app without any hassle to carry additional change that saves travel and commute time.

What is the best part of your job?

SD: Currently, the best part of my job is flexibility. I can work from anywhere, I don’t have to be physically present for the project of another city or even country. I love to work with people from different cultures and backgrounds who have different perspectives towards solving problems and making decisions. There is a lot to learn from every individual.

How do you like working at a startup?

SD: NaviParking is the first startup I am working with, but I love the way it is evolving every day and is committed to improving processes while being innovative and addressing the real problems. In startups, your work has a real impact, you can see almost daily that you are creating something that was not there before, and it’s a great feeling. You never get bored because you always have enough challenges to keep you interested.

What does sustainability mean to you? In what ways are you sustainable at your job and outside of it?

SD: A sustainable lifestyle is the need of the hour and can be adopted by everyone if they make small changes to their daily habits and can result in transforming our lives and the whole world for the better. Therefore, it should not be an “option” but a necessity, a duty of each and every person who lives on this planet.

In our company, we are providing a smart app that saves time spent looking for a parking slot thus saving time, energy and fuel.

Outside my job, I walk a lot, use public transportation as much as possible, am always in energy conservation mode and think twice before shopping for anything. That’s my way of being sustainable.

I love to work with people from different cultures and backgrounds who have different perspectives towards solving problems and making decisions. There is a lot to learn from every individual.
What is it about NaviParking that makes you proud to work here?

SD: People. We have people who put people, their health and feelings before work.

I am really grateful to be part of an innovative multicultural team that makes complex things seem not only easy but fun.

Tell us about your favourite thing that you’ve worked on.

SD: It has to be the Digital Parking portal (cyfrowyparking.pl) which was recently launched. I learned new technologies such as Node.js and Mongo database while working on it. We are working towards internationalisation of it, to make it available in multiple cities in different countries.

What motivates you?

SD: Continuously creating something that would be used by real people in different cities and countries is a great feeling. Being valued for the hard work and efforts I have put in is very important to me.

What’s remote work like for you?

SD: I kind of enjoy it. I can work from anywhere, it gives me the flexibility to work from any part of the world. I can work from India for the projects of Poland and UAE. But when you work from home, you need to schedule small things like lunch or coffee, or else you might end up missing them all.

What do you do when you’re not at work? Do you have any hobbies?

SD: I love painting, I love painting the moments I feel connected to.

I love watching sunsets, listening to Bollywood music (for people outside India, Bollywood is the Indian Hindi movie industry) and reading short funny stories and mystery books. I hate it when the mysteries in the books are not finished in the first book itself but have a second and then third part to it. So I have started with audible books now 😀

Tell us something people would be surprised to learn about you.

SD: I am the first engineer in a family full of lawyers where my father, uncles, aunties and even siblings are lawyers. Sometimes I feel like an alien when they have conversations on legal matters at the dinner table. But I am happy to be an engineer and love what I am doing 🙂
